Backpocket

Privacy policy

Last updated 27 October 2026

Your career history is personal. We keep what Backpocket needs to work, we never sell it, and no AI reads your words.

Who looks after your data

Cyde Enterprises runs Backpocket and is the controller of your personal data under UK data protection law (UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018).

What we collect, and why

We never see your card details: payments are handled entirely by Stripe. We don't collect anything about you from other companies.

What we never do

Who we share it with

Only the services that run Backpocket for us. Each handles your data on our behalf, under a contract, and only to provide their service:

Some of these companies store data in the United States. Where your data leaves the UK, it's protected by the UK's approved safeguards, such as the UK–US data bridge or the international data transfer agreement. We'd also share data if the law required it, or if Backpocket were sold, in which case we'd tell you first.

Inside Hunt Buddies, the people in your crew see your name, anything you've switched on for that crew, and the high-fives and messages you send. Switching a sharing setting off removes what it shared, not just future updates.

Cookies and storage on your device

Backpocket stores a few things in your browser so it works: your sign-in, so you stay logged in; a copy of your data, so the app is fast and works offline; and your theme. These are strictly necessary, so we don't ask for cookie consent, and there are no tracking or advertising cookies. Signing out ends your session; clearing your browser data removes the rest.

How long we keep it

Your rights

You can ask us to:

To ask, email hello@backpocket.pro, and we'll respond within a month. If you're unhappy with how we've handled your data, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office.

If you live in a US state with its own privacy law, such as California, you have similar rights to know, correct and delete your data. We don't sell or “share” personal information for advertising, and we won't treat you differently for using your rights.

Children

Backpocket is for people aged 13 and over. If you're under 18, you'll need a parent or guardian's permission to buy a subscription. If you think a child under 13 has signed up, tell us and we'll delete the account.

Keeping it safe

Your data is encrypted in transit and at rest. Security rules mean only you can read your pocket, and crew members can only read the numbers you've chosen to share. No system is perfect, so if something ever goes wrong we'll tell you and the regulator as the law requires.

Changes to this policy

If we change how we use your data, we'll update this page and, for anything significant, email you before it takes effect. See also our terms and refund policy.
